BTS’ hit track “ON” has officially surpassed 500 million streams on Spotify, making it the group’s 16th song to reach the milestone, according to a statement from BigHit Music on Sunday.
Released in February 2020, “ON” served as the lead single from BTS’ fourth studio album, Map of the Soul: 7. The track reflects on the band’s growth and challenges over the seven years since their debut, offering powerful lyrics and a dynamic performance that helped solidify their global reputation.

“ON” is known for its marching band-inspired instrumentation and introspective tone, balancing heavy beats with themes of resilience and self-acceptance. The song quickly became a fan favorite upon release, with its cinematic music video garnering hundreds of millions of views on YouTube and receiving critical praise for its scale and choreography.
Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, has played a key role in showcasing the global popularity of K-pop acts like BTS. Crossing the 500-million-stream threshold signals not only the group’s continued relevance but also the lasting impact of their music years after initial release.
This achievement adds to BTS’ growing list of Spotify records. Other tracks including “Dynamite,” “Butter,” and “Boy With Luv” have already surpassed 1 billion streams each.
BigHit Music thanked fans for their continued support, stating, “This milestone proves the enduring global reach of BTS’ music and the power of their fanbase. We look forward to sharing more meaningful work with audiences around the world.”
As BTS members pursue solo projects during their temporary group hiatus, the continued performance of songs like “ON” underscores the lasting legacy they’ve built over the past decade.
