105th Korean Language Proficiency Test (TOPIK) to Be Held April 11 in New York

The Korean Education Center in New York (KECNY) announced that it will administer the 105th Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) on Saturday, April 11, 2026, under the supervision of the National Institute for International Education (NIIE) of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea.

TOPIK is a nationally administered examination designed to assess the Korean language proficiency of non-native speakers. Test results are widely used for university admissions, employment opportunities in Korea, and eligibility for Korean government scholarships and training programs. The exam is conducted in cooperation with the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in New York.

■ Test Schedule

The 105th TOPIK will be administered as a paper-based test (PBT). All examinees must be seated at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the examination.

TOPIK I (Levels 1–2)

Listening & Reading (100 minutes)
Check-in: 9:10 AM / Start: 9:40 AM / End: 11:20 AM

TOPIK II (Levels 3–6)

Session 1: Listening & Writing (110 minutes)
- Check-in: 12:20 PM / Start: 12:50 PM / End: 2:40 PM
Session 2: Reading (70 minutes)
- Check-in: 3:00 PM / Start: 3:10 PM / End: 4:00 PM

■ Test Locations

The examination will be held at three designated sites:

Manhattan: Korean American Association of Greater New York
Queens: Korean Community Services of Metropolitan New York, Inc.
Central New York: SUNY Cortland

Test sites are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, and early registration is strongly recommended.

■ Registration and Fees

Registration Period: January 26 (Mon) – February 4 (Wed), 2026
Registration Method: Online via the KECNY website
Eligibility: Open to all applicants, no age restrictions

Test Fees

TOPIK I: USD 45
TOPIK II: USD 60

Fees are non-refundable after the registration deadline, and no changes to test level or test site are permitted once registration is completed.

■ Important Notes

Examinees must bring a valid photo ID that includes their full legal name, date of birth, and photograph. The ID information must exactly match the application details.

All electronic devices are strictly prohibited during the examination. Failure to submit any electronic device, even if powered off, will be regarded as cheating and may result in disqualification and a five-year ban from TOPIK examinations.

Printable test results will be available on the official TOPIK website (www.topik.go.kr) in May 2026 (exact date to be announced).

뉴욕한국교육원, 제105회 한국어능력시험(TOPIK) 4월 11일 시행…뉴욕·퀸즈·코틀랜드 3곳에서 실시

뉴욕한국교육원은 교육부 산하 국립국제교육원이 주관하는 제105회 한국어능력시험(TOPIK)을 오는 2026년 4월 11일(토)에 시행한다고 밝혔다.

한국어능력시험(TOPIK)은 한국어를 모국어로 하지 않는 외국인과 재외동포를 대상으로 한국어 사용 능력을 평가하는 국가 공인 시험으로, 대한민국 정부의 장학금 및 연수 프로그램 지원, 한국 대학 유학 및 취업 시 활용된다. 이번 시험은 주뉴욕대한민국총영사관과 협력해 진행된다.

■ 시험 일정 및 시험 과목

제105회 TOPIK은 지필시험(Paper-Based Test) 방식으로 실시되며, 시험 당일 모든 응시자는 시험 시작 30분 전까지 반드시 입실을 완료해야 한다.

TOPIK I (초급, 1~2급)

듣기·읽기 (총 100분)
입실: 오전 9시 10분 / 시작: 오전 9시 40분 / 종료: 오전 11시 20분

TOPIK II (중·고급, 3~6급)

1교시: 듣기·쓰기 (110분)
- 입실: 오후 12시 20분 / 시작: 오후 12시 50분 / 종료: 오후 2시 40분
2교시: 읽기 (70분)
- 입실: 오후 3시 / 시작: 오후 3시 10분 / 종료: 오후 4시

■ 시험 장소 (3개 시험장)

시험은 뉴욕한국교육원이 지정한 아래 3곳에서 실시된다.
